Academic Merit Award

Award Details

Amount: $500 – $4,000 per Academic Year

4.0 GPA- $4,000

3.5 to 3.99 GPA- $3,000

3.0 to 3.49 GPA- $2,000

2.5 to 2.99 GPA- $1,000

Below 2.5 GPA- $500

Eligibility: Awarded to all incoming students based on high school or college GPA.

Requirements: No application necessary.

Renewable: Yes, students must maintain a 2.0 GPA.

Bright Flight Program

Program Details

Amount: up to $3,000 per Academic Year
Eligibility: Must be a Missouri resident, first time freshmen with ACT score 31 or above or SAT Math score 800 and SAT Critical Reading score 770.

Renewable: Yes, students must maintain a 2.0 GPA

Community Leadership Award

Award Details
Amount: $2,000 – $6,000 over two Academic Years
Eligibility: Awarded to students who have demonstrated leadership through service to their church, community, or school. Students should complete a minimum of 100 hours of service, demonstrate academic achievement, and have a 3.0 GPA or above.
Requirements: Completed scholarship application with reference letter and essay. Student must maintain a 3.0 GPA during each academic year to keep this scholarship.
Renewable: No, the scholarship is offered to incoming freshmen and is divided over 4 consecutive semesters.
Deadline: February 1st for the Fall semester and October 1st for the Spring semester.

Missouri A+ Recognition Award

Award Details

Amount: $1,000 per Academic Year
Eligibility: First-time freshmen and transfers who have completed the Missouri A+ Schools Program.
Requirements: No application necessary.
Renewable: Yes, renewable with a 2.0 GPA.

Worship Leadership Scholarship

Award Details

Amount: Up to 100% of Tuition (excluding housing costs, meal plan costs, and student fees)

Eligibility: Students will need to have and maintain a 2.0 GPA to apply for the scholarship and to renew their scholarship each semester.

Requirements: Students that apply will fill out an application, complete an audition, submit a reference letter, submit a video of you leading worship in a church service, and complete an interview with the college. Completed FAFSA.

Renewable: Students are eligible to reapply annually with a 2.0 GPA.

MInister's Children Award

Award Details

Amount: $2,000 per Academic Year
Eligibility: Awarded to eligible dependents of active licensed or ordained ministers and missionaries.
Requirements: Proof of Parent’s credentials as an active licensed or ordained minister or missionary.
Renewable: Yes, student must maintain a 2.0 GPA

Ministry Leadership Award

Award Details

Amount: $2,000 per Academic Year
Eligibility: Awarded to students who have demonstrated ministry leadership through service to their church. Students should complete a minimum of 100 hours of service, demonstrate academic achievement, and have a 2.0 GPA or above.
Requirements: Completed scholarship application with reference letter and essay.
Renewable: Yes, student(s) must maintain at least a 2.0 GPA and go above and beyond in service to their practicum of choice.
Deadline: February 1st for the fall semester and October 1st for the spring semester.

Sibling Scholarship

Award Details

Amount: $1,000 per Academic Year
Eligibility: Awarded when two or more students from the same family are enrolled simultaneously at James River College.
Requirements: Eligibility will be determined from answers on the admission application.
Renewable: Yes, student must maintain 2.0 GPA.
Deadline: February 1st for the Fall semester and October 1st for the Spring semester.

James River College Need Grant

Grant Details

Amount: Awarded based on need per Academic year.
Eligibility: This grant is awarded based on the need calculation from the FAFSA, alongside the rest of student’s award package.
Requirements: An essay and completed FAFSA.
Renewable: No. However, students may re-apply before their second year.
Deadline: February 1st for fall semester and October 1st for spring semester.

National Fine Arts Award

Award Details

Amount: $500 -$2,000 over two Academic Years
Eligibility: National Merit Award will receive a total of $2,000 over 2 years, the scholarship will be awarded $500 each semester; National Level: Superior with Honors will receive a total of $1,000 over 2 years, the scholarship will be awarded $250 each semester; or District Level- Superior with Invitation will receive a total of $500 over 2 years, the scholarship will be awarded $125 each semester.
Requirements: Application with a certificate from fine arts with award listed.
Renewable: No. The scholarship is offered to incoming freshmen and divided over 4 semesters.

Pell Promise Guarantee

Grant Details

Full Pell: Individuals qualifying for a full Pell Grant with a SAI between -1500 and 0 are guaranteed scholarship/grants totaling $15,516 (91% of tuition).

Partial Pell: Individuals qualifying for a partial Pell Grant with a SAI between 0 and 6000 are guaranteed scholarship/grants totaling $10,060 (59% of tuition).

Eligibility: limited to Pell Grant recipients attending full time, in-person classes and residing in residential housing.

Requirements: Completed FAFSA by April 1st.

Renewable: Yes with 2.0 GPA. Available to current students, incoming freshmen, and transfer students.

Access Missouri Financial Assistance Program

Program Details

Amount: Up to $2,850 per Academic Year
Eligibility: Missouri resident with Student Aid Index (SAI) under $12,000.
Requirements: Completed FAFSA by February 1st, see more details
Renewable: Yes, the student must maintain a 2.0 GPA.
Deadline: Priority deadline February 1st
